Edward “Butch” Carroll Wisenbaker, 82, of Woodville passed away October 19, 2021.
Born in Woodville, Texas to Edward Mooney Wisenbaker and Avalene Carroll Wisenbaker, he was a lifelong resident of Woodville. Edward was a U. S. Army Veteran and retired as a Park Superintendent from the Texas Parks and Wildlife after 33 years of service. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time reading.
Butch was a strong man and a thinker. He always had to be working with his hands on the many projects he oversaw at work. Many a state park project had his fingerprints on them because he was not only involved in the manual labor of the project but the intellectual side as well. At home if you could not find him reading then he could be found in his workshop working on the next project he had in mind.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Mooney Wisenbaker and Avalene Carroll Wisenbaker; sister, Patricia Wisenbaker; and a son, Michael Wisenbaker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Wisenbaker; daughters, Melinda Wisenbaker, Zelphia Plunk and Teresa Ann Bailey; sister, Vera Hicks; brother, Robert E. Wisenbaker; grandchildren, Tiffany Clements, Chasity Jameson, Ashley Gennings and Michael Edward, II; eight great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Cremation services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home and Crematorium.
