Douglas Terrell Blackwell

Douglas Terrell Blackwell, 79, of Woodville, Texas, passed away on June 28, 2024, at the Woodville Health and Rehab Center. 

Douglas was born April 11, 1945, to Boyd and Doris Blackwell in New Mexico.  He graduated high school in Grand Prairie, Texas and worked as a butcher by trade.  He loved fishing, his family dogs and he loved to travel.  He especially loved the Colorado Mountains.    

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Doris Blackwell; brother, Michael Blackwell; sister, Sharon Curry; children, Theresa Blackwell and Kevin Blackwell. 

Douglas is survived by Kathryn Birch of Woodville; grandson, Blake Blackwell of Keller, Texas; granddaughter, Maegan Garza and husband, Jacob, of New Braunfels, Texas; and by niece, Sherri Day-Bruce and husband, of Fort Worth, Texas. 

Private burial will take place at Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. 

Cremation services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Texas.
