Dorris Mae Hatton, 100, of Warren passed away unto her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2022.
Born February 13, 1922 in Hillsboro, Texas to Claude and Ethel Brannan, she grew up in Beaumont having attended South Park High School where she played in the band. She married the love of her life, Grady Hatton, and they raised their children to know the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont where she sang soprano in the Calvary adult choir and directed the children’s choirs at the church. In 1974, she and Grady moved to Warren and became members of First Baptist Church in Warren.
Dorris had one of the biggest smiles that would light up a room and make everyone feel that she was smiling just for them. Her laughter was a gift that could be heard in the heavens. Her family was her joy and she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorris was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Brannan and Ethel DeLong Brannan and her husband, Grady Hatton.
She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Patricia Eileen Hatton and Dorri Jayne Hatton; son, Grady Edgebert Hatton, III and wife, Belinda; grandchildren, Jake Hatton and wife, Rhiannon, Garret Shrum and wife, Nicole, Morgan Hatton, Alyssa Hatton Moore and spouse, Virginia, Dorinda Lamberson, Dawna Chance, Emily Campbell and husband, Eric and Amy Welch; “Blessed Child”, Pamela Yates and husband, Sterling; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Edwin Findley officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Grady Edgebert Hatton, III, Grant Jacob Hatton, Garret Hunter Shrum, Jordan Blake Lamberson, Kade Tyler Lee and Trey Allen Chance.
