Dorothy Jean Warren Nicholas, 85, of Spurger, passed away September 20, 2021. She was born September 12, 1936 in Spurger, Texas to Thomas and Helen Warren. She helped her husband with their plumbing business, Jefferson Plumbing. She was a Godly woman who truly loved the Lord and her family with her whole heart.
She loved Rueben sandwiches from Arbys and vanilla Blue Bell ice cream. She enjoyed making her famous fudge and chocolate pies for her family and friends at Christmas. An avid fisherwoman, she had many trophy fish mounded for all to see. Dot, as what her family and friends called her, put everyone’s needs before her own.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Welch Jr. and wife Sherry of Spurger; stepsons, Greg and wife Andrea of Austin and Randall Lee Nicholas; brother, Ralph Warren of Anchorage Alaska; sister, Katy Carroll of Oklahoma; niece, Missy Warren Mann and daughter Jamie; her best friend Lola Sims of Spurger; sister-in-law, Barbara Roberts of Port Neches; brothers-in-law, Jerry Nicholas and wife Kay of Oklahoma City, Jack Nicholas and wife Carolyn of Vidor; and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2 pm at Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12 pm until 2 pm at the Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Welch Jr., Lee Oeding, Greg Nicholas, Terry Neulemans, Mike Selfridge, Grayson Pitman.
