It is with deep sadness that we announcement of Doris Sybil Williams Adams passing peacefully on December 16, 2023 after a quick bout of pneumonia.
Doris was 94 years old & was born in Many, La. on January 4th 1929, but grew up most of her life in Warren, Tx. She was married to Willie Homer Adams Jr. for 70 years. They raised 3 children in Nederland, TX where she was the seamstress for the nuns at St. Mary's hospital in Port Arthur, Tx for 20 years. She loved to fish, garage sale and travel. She hated the word bored and depressed saying those words didn't exist. Doris wore many hats and had several nick names. Her family called her Punkin but many called her memaw. She was mom, mother, memes, jokester and so much more to many people. Mom will be dearly missed and will always be remembered.
Mom was predeceased by her parents and 7 siblings and one son Phillip Wayne Adams and her husband Willie Homer Adams Jr.
She is survived by her youngest sister Alice Faye Langham, her daughters, Kay Traugott and son in law John Traugott of Silsbee and her youngest daughter Lisa Faye Adams Collins and son in law Timothy E. Collins of Conroe, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A catered celebration of life for Doris will be held in her honor as opposed to a traditional funeral service. We request all of Mom's loved ones to join us in sharing cherished stories and memories at Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, TX on January 13th at 11:00 a.m.
A Special thank you to Dorothy's House Will Straughter, Sewanda Straughter, Brent Straughter, and Sarah for so graciously taking care of mom in her last days of her life. Thank you to Casie Dykes from divinity hospice for guiding the family and becoming a great friend.
