Dennis Lance Goraum, 71, of Woodville, passed away July 18, 2025.
He was born in Long Beach, California. During the Vietnam War, Dennis left college to enter the military. Following a family tradition, he chose to join the Navy. After training, he was selected to serve on the USS Sam Rayburn Submarine as a nuclear technician. He served on the submarine for two years. He was then reassigned stateside as an electronics instructor and served in that position for six years. After eight years of military service, he returned to civilian life. His post-naval career as an electronic engineer took him to all 50 states and 31 countries. Dennis moved to Woodville seven years ago and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dennis was a family man through and through. He always stated that even if his family did not live close, they were always in his prayers, thoughts, and heart. He loved them deeply. An avid Astros fan, he knew every player and the whys and hows of where they played.
He is survived by his loving family, son, Brandon Goraum, and wife, Madeline of Georgia; grandson, Jaxon Goraum of Georgia; brother, Donald Goraum of Spring, Texas; nephews, Cody Goraum and Casey Goraum both of Texas, and numerous friends he thought of as family.
