Chuck Wayne Marshall, 48, of Woodville passed away September 29, 2020.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, he grew up in Spurger with strong family values given to him by his parents, Casey “Pop” and Doris Marshall. Chuck was a man with a big heart and a huge sense of humor. He loved to joke with people, had a spirited flirtatious nature, and let everyone know “he was a momma’s boy.” Chuck’s almost bigger than life personality impacted everyone around him. His comic relief and infectious laugh made us all giggle every day. His experience as a “Certified” “F.B.I.” agent as told in his many tall tales of his pursuit of “Happiness” will be fondly remembered by all that knew him best. His kind nature and willingness to lend a helping hand was evident by his never ending public service. He was a friend and brother to many people including his law enforcement family. He was respected and adored by everyone he met. His memory reaches far beyond today and will forever be in all of our hearts.
Chuck accomplished everything he set out to do including wearing numerous hats in Tyler County. His many contributions included being a Paramedic for the local ambulance service, a Tyler County Sheriff’s Deputy, Fire Chief of the Woodville Fire Department, Tyler County Sheriff’s Office Jailer, Tyler County Fire Marshall, and Ivanhoe City Deputy Marshall.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Casey “Pop” Marshall and his twin sons, Dalton Wayne and Ethan Neill Marshall.
He is survived by his loving mother, Doris Marshall; sisters, Stephanie Fielder and Karen Rogers and husband, Erik; daughter, Kaylee Cryer; grandbabies, Addison Wallace and Jaxon Lyles; nephews, Laythen Rogers, Ethen Rogers, Jacob McFarland, Joshua Fielder and Joseph Fielder; nieces, Rabon Rogers, Ruthie Bean and Jordan Ross and husband, Austin; special friends, Renae Cameron and her children, numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 3 pm at the Church in the Country, 555 FM 256 N, Woodville, Texas, with burial to follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred, Tx. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Tx.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Steven Hoke, Lawrence Hicks, Casey Whitworth, Eric Navarez, Kenneth “Tank” Powell, Cody Riley, Clay Brown, Jason Griffin and Danny Roberts.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will City of Ivanhoe Marshall Terry Riley, Tommy Warren, the members of Woodville Police Department, Department of Public Safety, Woodville VFD, Ivanhoe VFD, Shady Grove VFD, Spurger VFD, Colmesneil VFD, Dam B VFD, Fred VFD, Warren VFD, Chester VFD, White Tail Ridge VFD, and Tyler County Sheriff’s Department.
