Chester Randall "Randy" Gates, 64, of Angleton passed away April 29, 2022.
Born May 8, 1957, in Salinas, California to Clayton and Pearl Gates, he lived in Woodville for many years before moving to Angleton. He serviced in the Merchant Marines, he was a retired truck driver and a mason with the Brazoria #327. Chester had many friends who he made on the road and considered them to be family. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Gates and Pearl Leatherman Gates, wife, Debra Gates and a brother, Billy Gates.
He is survived by his loving children, Nikki Radford and husband, Clay of Angleton, Shauntell Copeland and husband, Kenneth of Kilgore, Aimee Callens and husband, Robert Perrault of Longview; girlfriend, Martha Stacy of Kentucky; sister, Donna Jones and husband, Johnny of Ball, LA; grandchildren, Sarah Marin and husband, Josh of Angleton, Jessica Taylor and husband, Tyler of Clute, John O’Brien and wife, Jennifer of Little Rock, Ark., Kyle Callens of Longview, Bailie McGuire and fiancée, Matt of Tyler, Hailie McGuire of Huntsville, Maddison Huggins and husband, Ricky of Longview and Tori Copeland of Mt. Pleasant; thirteen great grandchildren; honorary brothers, Ron Mills of Max Meadows, VA and Kevin Williams of Ganado, Texas; and a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
