Cecil Ray Collins

Cecil Ray Collins, Sr., 86, of Hillister, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at his residence. 

Cecil was born March 12, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Arva and Katie Lee Collins.  Soon after graduating high school, he joined the Navy and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 – 1961. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Collins and his parents, Arva and Katie Lee Collins. 

He is survived by his sons Cecil Collins, Jr., Richard Collins and wife Diane, and Ernest Collins; daughter Susan Townsend and husband Ira; grandchildren Brian Collins, Jennifer Gates, Heather Barnett, Brooke Collins, Brittany Collins, Dylan Frederick, and Dustin Frederick; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters Mary Alice Priddy and Martha Lind. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10 am until service time at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.  Officiating will be Pastor Robert McClelland. Burial will follow at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger, Texas.
