Billy Jack Jordan, 87, of Spurger passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 25, 2019.
Born May 25, 1932 in Spurger, Texas to the late James “Jack” Jordan and Gertrude Smith Jordan, he lived in Spurger all of his life. He married the love of his life, Joye Lowery, on September 1, 1954 in Spurger, Texas. He owned and operated Ye Ole’ Barber Shop in Spurger where every customer became like family. Billy Jack served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Snow River Masonic Lodge #385 in Spurger and the First Baptist Church in Spurger. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Billy Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Billie Joye Jordan and a son, Donald Jordan.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Doniece Hutto of Spurger; grandchildren, Craig Blankenship and wife, Bryttne of Spurger, Damon Jordan and wife, Gina of Spurger, Cody Jordan and wife, Kayla of Warren, Hali McCollum and husband, Joe of Warren; daughter-in-law, Donna Jordan of Spurger; great grandchildren, Alexa Jordan, Hayden McCollum, Tripp Jordan, Aireana Jordan and Kambree Blankenship; brother, Don Jordan of Spurger; sister, Janice Barnes of Rockland and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church in Spurger with Brother Cole Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Turner Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 pm until the time of the service at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Blankenship, Damon Jordan, Cody Jordan, Derrick Gray, Steve Lowery, Ryan Gray and Joe McCollum. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin Gray, Troy Gray, Cris Shipp and Tim Shipp
