Betty Lou Guidry Payne, 96, of Woodville passed away December 24, 2023.
Born in Port Neches, Texas to J. R. and Sylvania Guidry, she lived in Woodville for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Woodville where she volunteered with the Church Mouse and E.C.W. She served on the Tyler County Hospital Auxiliary for over twenty-five years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, J. R. Guidry and Sylvania Patin Guidry; husband, Robert Payne and four brothers, E. B. Guidry, Don Guidry, Carl Guidry and Ray Guidry.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Claus and husband, Len of Houston, Ronald Payne and wife, Wendy of Spring and Richard Payne of Woodville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Nettie Guidry and Lynda Guidry; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.
