Betty Jean Head

Betty Jean Head, 79, of Woodville passed away September 2, 2020.

Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Earl and Mary Ward Wooldridge, she moved to Tyler County with her family in 1981.  She worked at the Woodville Inn and was a health care provider for many years.  Betty was an avid reader who loved to fish.  Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mary Wooldridge and daughters, Michelle Head and Bobbi Handy.

She is survived by her loving children, Brenda Walker and husband, Jimmy of Woodville, Tom Head and wife, Melissa of Woodville and Richard Wissler and wife, Rachel of Alabama; sister, Ruth McNeil of Michigan; grandchildren, William Handy, Jr., Heather Lindsey, Kristin Walker, Justin Walker and Amanda Wissler; and numerous great grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Loar officiating.  Burial will follow at the Emmanuel Cemetery in Doucette, Tx.  Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Pierce, Bill Handy, William Handy, Justin Walker, Hap Champagne and Ivan Coons.
