Barbara Ann Phelps, 86, of Warren passed away January 21, 2024.
Born in Galveston, Texas to Wilson and Mabel Mott, she lived in Bolivar for many years before moving to Clute, Texas where she built a home and family. She loved her husband and supported him in all his endeavors no matter where they would take them. They decided on Warren, Texas to be their forever home after retirement. Barbara served in the PTA, Eastern Star, court clerk, bus drive for Brazosport ISD and was an avid square dancer. Her family was her life and she loved and supported them. They always knew that she had their back and would defend them no matter the circumstances.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Mott and Mabel Guillory Mott and her husband, Ruben Recil Phelps.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Kathy Phelps-Thompson and husband, Benny; son, Doug Phelps and wife, Cherri; grandchildren, Richard Thompson and wife, Amber, Tonya Thompson-Goodrum and husband, Stephen, Josh Clement and wife, Samantha, Jacob Clement and wife, Kate, Jon Clement and wife, Chelsea; great grandchildren, Cory Goodrum, Lukas Thompson, Lexi Goodrum, Jude Thompson, Nevaeh Goodrum, Oliver Clement, Eloise Clement and Maze Clement; brother, Wilson “Buddy” Mott and a host of other family members and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
