Barbara Jean Norton

Barbara Jean Norton, 77, of Warren passed away March 14, 2022.

Born January 2, 1945 in Center, Texas to Muriss Alfred Whittlesey and Dorothy Tidwell Whittlesey, she lived in Warren for many years.  She was retired from Wal-Mart in management.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friends to all who knew and loved her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Muriss and Dorothy Whittlesey; husband, Elzie Lamar Norton; siblings, Grady Whittlesey, Marjorie Cunningham, William Whittlesey, M.A. Whittlesey, Jr. and Ricky Whittlesey.

She is survived by her loving family, children, Rhonda Kaye Norton Gage, Ivy Wayne Norton and wife, Connie and David Lamar Norton and wife, Antonia; sisters, Judy Whittlesey and Julia Mae Bieneki and husband, Lloyd; brother, Robert Whittlesey and wife, Beatrix; grandchildren, Brandi Chapman, Clinton Gage, Logan Galloway, Windie Galloway, Kyle Norton, Shelby Hicks, Mark Waterstraat, Michael Harrell, Heather Beachamp and Denice Sanderson; great grandchildren, Juliet Crenshaw, Kaydin Gage, Isaac Singleton Gage, Cater Harrell, Gabriella Collins, Karalyn Forse, Brooklyn Hicks, Noah Beachamp and Emmy Schultz; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimbo Swinney officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fellowship Cemetery in Warren.  Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Arnett, Randy Gibson, Kyle Norton, Michael Harrell, Mark Waterstraat and Paul “Beaver” Greer.
