Allen Richmond “Rick” Spivey, 67, of Chester, TX passed away April 20, 2024.
Rick was born on December 10, 1956 in Beaumont, TX to parents Jerry and Mary Ann Spivey. He was an avid reader and a great outdoorsman. Family and friends were often entertained by his animated and likely exaggerated way of telling tales of his antics from childhood up to more recent events – even better if one or both of his brothers were around to join in the story. The Spivey brothers were all born within a 3-year period, so Rick had built-in best friends for life. His favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing, especially if his brothers were with him. He is remembered best driving through the hunting lease (occasionally getting stuck) or fishing by the Neches River.
Rick was preceded in death by father Jerry Edward Spivey and mother Mary Ann Frost Spivey.
He is survived by wife Jean Spivey; daughters: Angel R Spivey Brondel and husband Scott, and Honey Spivey Habingreither and husband Jason; grandchildren: Emily and Jason Brondel, and Helen and Maria Habingreither; former wife and longtime friend Patricia Adams Spivey; brothers: Brian Edward Spivey and wife Rejena, and Charles Bradley Spivey and wife Donna; five nieces, one nephew, and their spouses and children/grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial with no visitation per Rick’s wishes.
