Alice Faye Carty, 72, of Woodville passed away March 10, 2021
Born November 28, 1948 in Woodville, Texas to Lee and Hazle Martin, she lived in Tyler County all of her life. She retired from Wal-Mart in the cash office after 30 years of service. Alice loved to cook and be with her grandbabies who she loved dearly. She enjoyed gambling and going to the casinos with friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Hazle Martin; husband, Johnny Carty; son, Jeff Simmons; brothers, Medford L. Martin, Roy Lee Martin, Melvin L. Martin, Andrew Martin, Edward Martin, Ike Woodrow Martin and Lester W. Martin and a sister, Fannie M. Martin.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Marcy Diane Cooper and husband, Bill of Colmesneil; son, Gilbert Dewayne Simmons and wife, Kendra of Silsbee; grandchildren, Reiss Cooper and Remi Cooper both of Colmesneil, Beth Simmons, Katelyn Simmons and Hayden Simmons all of Lumberton, Tyson Jace Simmons and Kaiden Wayne Simmons both of Silsbee; sisters, Betty Martin and Annie Thomas both of Woodville; brothers, Bobby Wayne Martin of Huntington and Roy Gene Martin of Woodville; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Gregory Cemetery in Colmesneil. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 am until the time of the service.
