Mary Ella Sheffield, 90, of Spurger passed away November 11, 2019.
Born to the late Johnny and Donna McClain, she was a lifelong resident of Tyler County. She had a servant’s attitude and always had an open door with plenty to eat at her home. She enjoyed sewing and quilting for her family. Ms. Mary loved to cook for not only her family but for her church family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spurger and loved the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Sheffield; son, Charles Sheffield; a grandson, Charles “Chuck” Sheffield; brother, Jack McClain.
Mary is survived by her loving sons, Donald Wayne Sheffield and wife, Lucy of Colorado and Keith Sheffield and wife, Pam of Spurger; grandchildren, Craig Sheffield, Sara Sheffield, Olivia Maine and Jessica Fant; great grandchildren, Lane and Mason Sheffield, Logan and McClain Fant and Jack Maine; sister, Rebecca Ann Montgomery of Longview; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sheffield of Kirbyville; sister-in-law, Gladene McClain of Nacogdoches; and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Spurger with Brother Cole Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2019, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the First Baptist Church in Spurger.
