Johnny Richard Horton, Sr.

Johnny Richard Horton, Sr., 88, of Woodville passed away December 4, 2019.

Born April 25, 1931 in Little Rock, Ark to the late Elmer and Altha Lee Horton, he lived in Woodville for many years.   He was a carpenter who enjoyed building homes for people and built many in Tyler County and served as a minister.   He married Nelda Horton August 5, 1985 and taught her how to do carpenter work so she could work alongside him.  Johnny loved to fish and deer hunt.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew and loved him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Billy Horton.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Nelda Horton; sons, Johnny Horton, Jr and wife, Denise of Port Arthur and Brian Horton of Royal, Ark; grandchildren, Billy Horton and wife, Tiffany of Brookeland and Samual Horton of Hot Springs, Ark; great grandchildren, Nathan Horton and Riley Horton of Brookeland; and numerous other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 10 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Walker officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Town Bluff.  Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2019, from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.
