Harvis Gerald Fountain, 84, of Woodville passed away January 18, 2020.
Born in Warren, Texas to the late James and Delma Gardner Fountain, he lived in Tyler County most of his life. He was a construction superintendent for H. B. Neild and Sons for 28 years and Allco, Inc for 14 years and a U.S. Army Korean veteran. Gerald was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, garden and work with his livestock. He will mostly be remembered for his domino playing where he always managed to win by being the “Sneaky Player” who bid low with usually a double in his hand. He was a loving family man.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Cornelia “Corky” Fountain; and two sisters, Merle Edgar and Burnell “Becky” Weber.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Burndean Kirkland Fountain; daughters, Sherlyon Burns and husband, Daniel of Beaumont and Carol Jean Boulet of Colmesneil; son, James B. Fountain and wife, Angela of Beaumont; step-son, Everett Kirkland and wife, Robin of Jasper; step-daughter, Sissy Knight and husband, Bradley; grandsons, Justin Burns, Benjamin Boulet, Caleb Fountain, and Cory Fountain; granddaughters, Tarah Burns Shepherd and husband, Josh and Holly Boulet and fiancé, Bobby Marshall; great grandchildren, Tennyson Burns and Charlie Marshall; and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service with a Masonic service held by the Myrta Lodge #658 of Warren will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 11 am, at the Riley Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Burns, Josh Shepherd, Ben Boulet, Cory Fountain, Everett Kirkland and Bradley Knight.
